Well, well, well... I'm back once again with yet another review... And, as of per usual, this is heavy stuff. Meat Machine's 'Year Two' is simply one of the best albums ever. I am not kidding you. I am never kidding you.

Jono Davis is a young singer-songwritter currently living in Chico, California. Chico is the city where the excellent Sierra Nevada beer is brewed, and outside being the home of one of the best beers on the planet, it is also the home of one of the best singer-songwritter of all time.

So then, Meat Machine is Jono's solo project... When he was even younger, he was playing in an excellent band named Kid Presentable (I'll talk about them sometime probably), but later the band called it a quit and Jono started Meat Machine.

The first album to be released was 'Interstate 80' which is a pure acoustic punk marvel... But with 'Year Two', Jono achieved a quantum leap, blending his acoustic punk music with more mainstream influences such as folk and plain old rock, for a result that is beyond words.

As an example, 'Drink Deep'. There's so much emotion in this song, even a rock would be rocked while listening to it. And the lyrics... A kind of Jim Morrisonesque poetry, nothing less.

But 'Drink Deep' is not the only reason why I like this release. To be true, there's also 'Yuri' and too much other songs to mention them all. If I had to make a comparison, I would say this album is like a 21th century 'Blonde On Blonde'.

Please note that Jono uses to put chords and lyrics online.
