If you read the review that was previously posted here, you know the Waxdoll story. Then, a few time after discovering Waxdoll trough Jemo... Jamendo, I found there another great band. Yet another band revisiting the grunge sound in its own way... And this band is (drums)... Oh, yeah, you read the title of this review ? Then, you know this band is Human Gaps.
And this Human Gaps EP is (rude word) huge ! Especially because of Okaïdi, which is, as far as I know, one of the best song ever. I spent so much time listening to it, I had to write a few words about the EP that contains this marvel.
Human Gaps, also, has a few brand new songs available on another small and lesser know website, whose name may sound like Maspyce... Myspace ? Yeah, you got it right.
But, stop kidding. This is a serious case, here. Simply because '1st Step' is the kind of EP that could make you think that, actually, there's a whole unknown universe of great bands that you never heard about that is waiting for you... The Human Gaps thing is going to put you upside down ; you can trust me on this point, for sure. Simply for their strong sense of what a good song should song like. These guys got it right, to be true. Nowadays, the mainstream media is progressively becoming more and more autistic. You now have to have been locked up into a TV studio that looks like a house for a few weeks before you actually have a chance to record an album. Crazy, ain't it ? But, in the shadows, there is culture chombatas that are working hard to release great albums without minding being featured on such or such TV channel. I would not want to speak when it is, actually, up to the band to speak, but I think Human Gaps belong to this not-so-crowed category. They put their songs online. So few cares. But the ones who cares, cares so much, that on the long run, well, we'll see who's making the difference.
Wait. I know there's something I should do, is to quickly scan '1st step' in order to refresh a bit the opinion I have of it...
Oh yeah ! It's like a good shower ! Just by listening to the first seconds of each track, I instantly remembered how much I like this band ! The vocals, the guitar, the drums & the bass are simply excellent !
What else can I say ? This band is great. You will agree with me simply by giving their release a listen. That's so simple, it makes me want to cry. What are you still doing here ? Go download now, now, now !
