Brainless On Line is one of the most mythical punk-pop act from the French Nord-Isère scene of the late 90's and the early 2000's.
They are singing in English.
They actually never released anything until their split. But, years later, an instrumental EP was made available on the net. It didn't last for long, for sure, but this EP properly set on fire anyone who listened to it.
Which killer tracks such as 'Follow The Coffin', this band showed up its huge value in the crowed world of nowadays' music.
I saw them live, once. It was, if I remember correctly, in 1999, but I ain't no sure about this fact. At the time, I especially noticed the richness of their drummer's playing, and, along with time, became more and more fan of this band. This is, definitively, one of the best Nord-Isère band ever. Or maybe one of the best world's band ever, I don't know.
Brainless On Line was a good band. Yeah. Their surrealistic lyrics, alongside with their heavy pop touch put in their hardcore/punk mix, drives you to the Nirvana. If you like such acts. Which is not sure. But anyway even if you are not an hardcore fan of these styles, the definitively success in their crossover attempt should interest you. Probably.
For years, the band has been announcing the issuing of a live album, 'Brainless On Live'. We are still waiting for it... Please note that a few Brainless On Live tracks are currently broadcasted by the legendary webradio Wumzle Radio, but, hey, this webradio is no longer maintained and can go offline at any time. The EP 'no arms no chocolate' is also featured on this awesome station, and, as a disclaimer, I must state that it is run by me.
To sum up... Well, are you really willing to do something useful today ? Start a search. You CAN get this EP. Here's some tips :
The members of the band are L'Autrichien (drum), Tao (lead vox), Nain+ (guitar), JanMi (guitar) and Le morse des mers (bass). If you manage to get in touch with one of them, I don't know, maybe, you'll be able to get a copy.
Or you can actually streamrip Wumzle Radio. It would be illegal, nevertheless.
This EP has been made available to the public in a really crappy 32kbps (or maybe less) MP3 quality. The band still owns the masters in CD quality. And, even, there were rumours about them re-recording these tracks ten years after the split. But about this, so few good infos have leaked that I cannot say anything about this.
