Desperadow - I Found God

Are you in a hurry ? You can browse the official release page on Long Lost Records (beware, the cover art may offend you), where you can buy one of the limited to 25 copies CD-R digipacks or download the release for free. Just in case Long Lost Records is no longer reachable, here's a direct link to download the album, trough MediaFire - this is the label that put it there, not us ! This is legal !

Are you not in a hurry ? Then, you can keep on reading.

As you may know, I am a big No Monster Club fan. A few days ago, NMC announced the issuing of a new vinyl for mid-March. While emailing some friends about this, I went back to their site to see what was new.

And, in the link section, I found a new label, 'Long Lost Records'. I suppose the NMC vinyl will be released there, but I ain't no sure. But, hey, that's not the subject of this post. To be true, I browsed a bit the Long Lost Records weblog... And a release caught my attention.

There's two things that I found interesting : first, the fact that it is available for free download. Then, the fact that it is defined by the label's owners as pop-grunge... So I decided to give it a try.

And... Oh... This is a masterpiece ! A subtle mix of arpeggios, very nice voices, for a very atmospheric result that should know a worldwide fame in the forthcoming centuries.

The release is very well produced... You are not fan of lo-fi things ? I am a fan of lo-fi things... But this release, while being a little bit lo-fi, is some kind of very clean lo-fi and you can go on without fear.

No need to say, I even didn't go to the end to the second track, and bought one physical copy of this marvel. Then I kept on listening, and I can say this is definitively one of my 2011's favourites ; even if I discovered this great release in 2012 to be sharp.

Think of No Monster Club meeting Spider And The Webs meeting Nirvana meeting Young Marble Giants meeting some of the best parts of Radiohead, and you'll be still far from knowing exactly how good this album is. To be true, this is simply excellent. No need to say that I strongly recommend you give this release a listen...

While "I Found God" is very coherent, the songs still have, for each of 'em, their own personality. Starting from now, Deperadow will be among the projects people should be aware of if they mind a certain idea of culture. I hope this will not be a one-shot, and that more releases will be available sooner or later.

To sum up, you have to download this release. Simply. If you don't, you are no longer my friend and I won't call you for my birthday party.
